Had the first news from Stephen Baston, whom we did a fund raising evening for his Namibian gap year, in April. He has settled in well, in a town called Aranos, and is looking forward to meeting the children at his school, where he will be teaching for the next year. He has moved into a flat in town and is sharing with two other students. He’s first comment was how beautiful the country is and how friendly the people are. I shall keep you informed of his progress.

I am organising a special 4 day trip aboard next April to Boppard in Germany, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This short break will coincide with one of the highlights in Boppard’s calender ‘Spring In The Middle Rhine Festival’ which is when all the vineyards along the Rhine open and offer wine and local speciality food tastings. Depart Friday 24th and return Monday 27th. Stay in our Sister hotel in Boppard, right in the centre of the town which is just 2 minute walk from The Rhine. I am going to Boppard on Monday 6th October to finalise arrangements and will give you more insight into your weekend away on my return. Please put this date in your diary. Something Different !
