NEWSLETTER APRIL 101 MARKET TOWN OF KINGS Medieval Banqueting Night FRIDAY 25th APRIL Mutton and brisket are just two of the forgotten gems in British cooking. Mutton in particular has suffered a poor reputation in recent years, which is such a shame, because it has far more depth and flavour than lamb. The secret in cooking both types of meat is long and slow, which is one of the reasons why brisket doesn’t fair well in today’s hectic and busy lives. Fortunately, mutton is enjoying a well deserved revival, thanks to the Mutton Renaissance campaign, headed by The Prince Of Wales. The dishes tonight were actually served at The Ritz in London when Prince Charles launched the Mutton Renaissance campaign. You will be seated at long banqueting tables where various dishes will be served to your table by our serving wenches!!!!!! Mutton Broth with lots of crusty bread. Braised Brisket in Ale together with dishes of potatoes and vegetables. Mutton and Turnip Pie. Fricassee Of Mutton with Glazed Vegetables. For the non meat eaters permission will be granted by the Sire of Feversham to consume the following: Vegetable Broth. Lentil Loaf and Roasted Vegetable Rice. Bottle of Monks Delight or Kentish Strong Cider on tables (large bottle between 4) £22.00 per person ~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE the restaurant will be CLOSED Between Monday 4th May and re-open Wednesday 21st May. ~~~~~ Faversham Charity Bike Ride Sunday 11th May ~~~~~ Faversham Classic Car and Bike Rally Sunday 18th May Don’t miss this fabulous day.
